My Etsy store is open! ・　Etsy　始めました！

I started my first online store! Etsy is one of the most popular site for artisans to sell their creations. It is amazing to see the variety of items listed on the site. You can also find art/craft materials and antiques. I only have small inventory at this point, but I have been making more items to grow my store. I started it on January 6th, and have already sold a couple of items. It is exciting to think that my pottery can now go outside of Oregon :-)　Please visit my store at:

Happy New Year!! ・　あけましておめでとうござます

Happy New Year! I hope 2013 will be another wonderful year for everyone. I've been hibernating again after my last show in Vancouver ( I forgot to mention it here... but it was on Dec. 16th). As I write every winter, my studio, a.k.a. garage, gets too cold this time of the year for me to work in it. Until the clay thaws in March, I usually spend my time thinking about what will be my next product :-) My new year resolution is : " I will make something new and cool with lids!" Lids have been a challenge for me, but I will overcome my "fear of lids" this year!　And, " I will do better at updating this blog!"
By the way, Local Discoveries is a very cool shop on Alberta St. in NE Portland　（1627 NE Alberta), and they sell some of my pieces. Yarn bowls have been selling quite well there. The store also has local, handmade products by 65 local artisans. There are many awesome restaurants, coffee shops, artists' studios, and more on the street. あけましておめでとうございます。　２０１３年が皆様にとってすばらしい年になりますように。　私は昨年最後のバンクーバーでのセールの後から冬眠に入っております　（書き込むのを忘れたのですが、このセールは１２月１６日でした）毎年冬が来るたびにここに書きますが、私のスタジオ、というか車庫は、この季節作業をするには激寒なんです。　なので、３月ごろに凍った粘土が融けるまでの時間を、来期の新しい作品について考えることに費やしています。今年の私の目標は、“蓋つきの何か新しいものを作る！”です。　蓋は私の弱点。　今年は蓋への恐怖を乗り切るべく修行に励みます。　それと、あと一つ、“ブログの書き込みを忘れない！”　（汗）
ところで、Local Discoveriesという素敵なお店の紹介を再度させていただきます。　NEポートランドのAlbertaストリートにあるお店(1627 NE Alberta St. )で６５人の地元作家さんの作品を売っています。　私の毛糸玉ボウルも大変好評で、クリスマス前には何度も納品させていただきました。　このストリートには行列ができるような有名なレストランや、カフェ、そのほかにもアーティストのスタジオなどが並び、ポートランドらしいお洒落な所です。　Local Discoveriesのオーナー、ジュリーさんもとっても素敵な人です♪　フェイスブックのページがここで見られます。http://www.facebook.com/pages/LOCAL-DISCOVERIES-LLC/187950007275

Oak Hills Holiday Bazaar & McMenamins Holiday Market this weekend!

I have a couple of shows coming up this weekend. Here are the details:

-McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse ４th　Annual Holiday Market

Date & Time: December 2nd, Sunday From noon to 5pm

Location: 4045 NW Cornelius Pass Rd. Hillsboro

The picture shows my new color. I had been looking for red glaze, and I finally found the one I like. I have been using it on yarn bowls and flower pots. I like it :-)

The Springs at Carman Oaks Holiday Bazaar, Nov. 17th!

On November 17th, Saturday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, I will be participating a holiday show at Springs at Carman Oaks.
Location: 3800 Carman Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035

There will be free face painting for everyone from 11am to 2pm! Also, music by guitarist, Tim Roth, from 11am to 1pm. This event is to benefit Mission Mahalo, non-profit that provides care packages to our troops overseas.

St. Pius X Christmas Bazaar is coming soon!

I want to thank everyone who visited my booth at HARVEST! last week :-)  My next bazaar is coming up soon.   It is St. Pius X Christmas Bazaar. Here is the details:

Location: St. Pius X Catholic Church Community Center, 1280 NW Saltzman Road, Portland, OR 97229

Dates: November 1st, Thu, 6pm to 9pm
November 2nd, Fri, 9am to 7pm
November 3rd, Sat, 9am to 7pm
November 4th, Sun, 8am to 2pm
I have participated in this bazaar for the last three years, and I have enjoyed it a lot.  My kids like to come to see Santa, and give him the list of presents they want. Hope to see you there!

Harvest! event ・　ハーベスト・イベント

It's been three months since my last posting... I took a break from the market in August and spent three weeks in Japan. The second picture shows Taro Okamoto's studio, in Aoyama, Tokyo. Taro Okamoto is my role model (and the greatest artist, of course). Then, I have been working in the studio to prepare for the holidays. My first fall show is coming up in two weeks! Ticketed Program: 7-8:30pm

Admission and parking are FREE

It is an event to support Eve's Daughters, which supports single moms in the area. The portion of the sales from this event will benefit the organization. Bring your friend, and get a jump on your holiday shopping! There is a ticketed dessert program to support their program, too. There will be many other artists (glass fusing, baskets, pillows, knits, photography, scarves, and more!).

前回の書き込みから早３ヶ月、、、　８月にマーケットをお休みして日本に遊びに行ってきました。　２枚目の写真は東京、青山にある岡本太郎スタジオです。　彼の息吹を感じました。　残りの人生、彼のように生きてぇなぁ。　日本から戻ってからは年末のセールの準備をすべく、スタジオで作業をしておりました。　この秋最初のイベントの紹介をさせていただきます。
