The Springs at Carman Oaks Holiday Bazaar, Nov. 17th!

On November 17th, Saturday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, I will be participating a holiday show at Springs at Carman Oaks. 
Location: 3800 Carman Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035

There will be free face painting for everyone from 11am to 2pm!  Also, music by guitarist, Tim Roth, from 11am to 1pm.  This event is to benefit Mission Mahalo, non-profit that provides care packages to our troops overseas.

St. Pius X Christmas Bazaar is coming soon!

I want to thank everyone who visited my booth at HARVEST! last week :-)  My next bazaar is coming up soon.   It is St. Pius X Christmas Bazaar.  Here is the details:

Location: St. Pius X Catholic Church Community Center, 1280 NW Saltzman Road, Portland, OR 97229

Dates: November 1st, Thu, 6pm to 9pm
November 2nd, Fri, 9am to 7pm
November 3rd, Sat, 9am to 7pm
November 4th, Sun, 8am to 2pm
I have participated in this bazaar for the last three years, and I have enjoyed it a lot.  My kids like to come to see Santa, and give him the list of presents they want.   Hope to see you there!

Harvest! event ・ ハーベスト・イベント

 

It's been three months since my last posting...  I took a break from the market in August and spent three weeks in Japan. The second picture shows Taro Okamoto's studio, in Aoyama, Tokyo.  Taro Okamoto is my role model (and the greatest artist, of course).   Then, I have been working in the studio to prepare for the holidays.  My first fall show is coming up in two weeks!  Here is the details:

Admission and parking are FREE

 

It is an event to support Eve's Daughters, which supports single moms in the area.  The portion of the sales from this event will benefit the organization.  Bring your friend, and get a jump on your holiday shopping!  There is a ticketed dessert program to support their program, too.  There will be many other artists (glass fusing, baskets, pillows, knits, photography, scarves, and more!). 

 

前回の書き込みから早３ヶ月、、、　８月にマーケットをお休みして日本に遊びに行ってきました。　２枚目の写真は東京、青山にある岡本太郎スタジオです。　彼の息吹を感じました。　残りの人生、彼のように生きてぇなぁ。　日本から戻ってからは年末のセールの準備をすべく、スタジオで作業をしておりました。　この秋最初のイベントの紹介をさせていただきます。

このイベントは地元のシングルマザーをサポートする団体、Eve's Daughtersが主催で、売り上げの一部がこの団体へ寄付されます。　お友達とご一緒にクリスマスのお買い物を一足先始めてみてはいかがでしょうか♪　セールの後にはデザートを囲んでのイベント（チケット要）もあります。　ガラス作品・手作り籠・クッション・手編み作品・写真・スカーフ、などなど沢山の他の作家さん達も参加します。　ぜひ遊びに来てくださいませ～♪　　　

 

 

 

Belated... July schedule ・ ちょっと遅いけど。。。七月のスケジュール

I know it's already the middle of the month... but here is my July schedule:
Saturdays July 7, 14, and 21st - Art Court (right by Beaverton Farmers Market, 8:30am to 1:30pm)
Sundays July 1, 8, 15, and 22nd - Orenco Station Farmers Market (New Seasons Parking lot, 10am to 2pm)

The picture shows my new color, northern light.  I made a couple of shallow bowls with this new glaze, and I like it :-)

写真は新しい色を使ったボウルです。　”オーロラ”という名前の釉です。　ちょっと浅めの大きいボウルを作ってみました。　色が綺麗で気に入ってます。

Teapot, new hobbie, and June Schedule ・ 急須と新たの趣味と６月の予定

I have been having a lot of fun at markets.  I am making more stuff, meeting more people, and having more fun!  The first pic shows my most recent teapot.  I made this one for one of my special customers, Mrs. V.  She has purchased another teapot at a holiday show last year, and she has discovered the joy of tea making/drinking.  It 's great to add new hobbies in your life.  I, as if I need more hobbies, also discovered the joy of playing a guitar :-)  I got myself a 3/4 size acoustic for an early mother's day present, and have been practicing ever since.  If you see me playing  a guitar (& singing Elephant Kashimashi songs at the top of my lungs) at parks in Hillsboro area, that would be me.  Please don't pretend you don't know me.  Also, I joined a book club.  I enjoy discussing books with wonderful group of book lovers at our monthly meetings. Life is good :-) Here is my June schedule:

楽しいマーケットの季節を過ごしております。　沢山作って、沢山の人に出会い、沢山の楽しい思い出を作っております。　最初の写真は最近作った急須です。　陶器屋をよくご利用していただくVさんのためにお作りしました。Vさんは去年のクリスマス・ショーで私の急須を一つお買い上げいただき、それ以来、お茶の楽しみに目覚められたのだそうです。　生活の中に趣味が増えるのっていいですよね♪　私も、もうこれ以上趣味を増やさなくてもいいのでは、、、と思いつつ、ギターに目覚めました。　早めの母の日プレゼントとして自分に４分の３サイズのアコースティックギターをゲット。　日々練習に励んでおります。ヒルズボロ界隈の公園でギターを弾いている（時にエレカシの歌を高らかに歌いながら）私を見かけたらどうか他人のふりをしないでください。　そしてブッククラブにも入会させていただきました。　月に１回のミーティングでハードコアな本好き＆素敵な皆さんと本を語るのは本当に楽しみです。　こんな生活、好きだわ♪　以下は６月の予定です。

Here is my May schedule.  I'm very excited to start the new season!  I have a few new lines of products this year, including the flower pots I introduced last time, this travel mug, and tall tumblers.
